                                                           Rava Ladu



Ingredients:

  • Rava / Sooji (semolina) – 1 cup

  • Sugar – ¾ to 1 cup (as per sweetness preference)

  • Ghee – ¼ to ½ cup (melted, adjust as needed)

  • Grated dry coconut – ¼ cup (optional but gives nice taste)

  • Cardamom powder – ½ tsp

  • Cashews – 8–10 (chopped)

  • Raisins – 8–10


Method:

  1. Roast the rava

    • Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan.

    • Add the rava and roast on medium flame until it turns light golden and aromatic.

    • Transfer to a plate and let it cool.

  2. Roast nuts

    • In the same pan, add a little ghee.

    • Roast cashews and raisins until golden and keep aside.

  3. Grind sugar

    • Powder the sugar in a mixer to make it fine.

    • Mix with cardamom powder.

  4. Mixing

    • In a big bowl, combine roasted rava, grated coconut, powdered sugar, cardamom, cashews, and raisins.

    • Add warm melted ghee little by little. Mix well.

  5. Shaping laddus

    • While the mixture is warm, take small portions and shape into balls (laddus).

    • If mixture feels dry, add 1–2 tsp more warm ghee.

  6. Cool & Store

    • Allow them to cool completely.

    • Store in an airtight container (they stay good for about a week).
